Old web site content

When I started the new web-site, I hadn’t planned on migrating any of the content from my old one. Well, my super smart husband figured out an easy way to capture the old pages and pictures and they are now available under the Archived Web-Site page.  Thanks, Schmoopy!

A Tale of Two Quilts

I recently finished quilting two beautiful wool quilts, made by two sisters.  The pattern is Sue Spargo’s Imperial Blooms, which was her block of the month in 2011. The pattern struck me as being a bit more formal looking than what you’d usually expect from Sue Spargo, and inspired me to quilt the first one a bit more formally than I would usually quilt a Sue Spargo quilt.  The second one had a less formal treatment:

Detail of the curved crosshatching in the border and lined fill in the interior:

Detail of the loopy leafy fill and piano-key border:

I love them both!  Sometimes its really hard to give them back when I’m finished…..  Luckily I will have my own Sue Spargo BOM to quilt next year.  This year’s BOM is called Earth’n’Twig and is just such fun to work on – beautiful fabrics and lots of embellishment stitches to learn.  I am managing to keep up so far!

Welcome to the new and improved website!  If you have landed here from a search that is no longer found, I am sorry but I am not going to migrate the old content.  If you have a specific question I would be happy to try and help.

Just got back from a long weekend in NYC – managed to visit The City Quilter, Purl Soho AND Mood Fabrics, as well as hit a few shows and museums.

And now, since I have no other pictures of work in process to share right now, a gratuitous cat on quilt photo (note that this is NOT a customer quilt, cats are not allowed on those!):
